Dogs experience the world through their nose. Nosework takes that instinct and turns it into a game. Your dog searches, you learn to read them, and both of you get better at it every week. It's the rare activity where the dog leads. Nosework is a great fit for dogs who struggle in busier settings: shy dogs, reactive dogs, seniors, dogs recovering from injury, and high-drive dogs who need somewhere to put all that energy. Searching is a very high enrichment activity that is genuinely tiring in a way walks aren't. Most owners are surprised how hard a few minutes of sniffing wipes a dog out. We start with simple food searches so your dog learns the game is worth playing, then build toward hunting a hidden target in containers, in the backyard, or around the room. No prior training required, and your dog works one at a time, so dogs who aren't comfortable around other dogs can still participate.
