Service Description

Every reliable behavior rests on a handful of foundation skills, taught clearly and practiced until your dog can do them when it counts. "Basic Obedience I" builds that foundation from the ground up, whether you're starting with a brand-new dog or tightening up cues that have gotten sloppy. You'll learn SIT, LAY, STAND and WAIT with a clean verbal release, and TOUCH as a hand target — plus the marker timing and reward mechanics that make every future behaviors easier to teach. We'll discuss the lure-reward system, and the importance of avoiding bribes. The course is five 60-minute in-person classes on Sundays at Paws Playland ABQ. Classes are capped at 4–6 dogs so you get real coaching, not a crowd. $219 per dog. Current vaccinations required. Basic Obedience I is the first of three levels, with the AKC Canine Good Citizen test offered in Level III.
